Last summer, it seemed all the food and music festivals were leaving downtown. Taste of St. Louis fled to Chesterfield, and Ribfest went to St. Charles. This fall, though, things are changing.
There’s a new festival this Fall that’s sure to leave your mouth watering. Downtown St. Louis Incorporated joined Mayor Slay and some of the nation’s top ranked pitmasters to announce, “Q in the Lou.”
Naysayers may claim the barbecue craze is on its way out, but Mike Emerson, co-owner of Pappy’s Smokehouse, begs to differ. Emerson recently announced the debut of Q in the Lou, a national barbecue festival Sept. 25 to 27 at Soldiers’ Memorial.
The announcement comes after downtown St. Louis has lost several festivals to other parts of the region, including Budweiser St. Louis Ribfest to St. Charles and Bluesweek Festival and Taste of St. Louis to Chesterfield.
Downtown STL Inc. and Eximus Productions have revealed that some of the leading pitmasters in the country will be coming to St. Louis this fall to participate in a world-class barbecue festival to be held downtown.
